Session 9
“The ’ Items ’ or ’ Item ’…whatever…we stole them…” long pause “…eghh…we stole them from the Syndicate” - Ember
“I have not had the best night! Honestly, was not in the mood to climb a building!” - Aydriann
“Oh…well…you know…jeez…It’s been a busy night, I figured I came here…” - Victor
“Look man, We went through alot, we have the stuff, it was not easy to get but we have it. We just need the assurance you stuck to your end of the bargain.” - Enoki
Stepping off of the train, the group travel towards the Vauxhall precinct to meet up with Morstar at the Glorious morning glory tavern and inn. Short into their walk, Ember and Aydriann step away from the group to talk to their criminal contacts. Ember tries to be conspicuous as she travels into the alley where Preslynn, her criminal contact, awaits. Sitting, acting like a homeless person, she stands and starts to talk to Ember, asking questions about the job.
Ember tells her that it was more complex than what they had hoped for. Ember asks Preslynn if she knows about Morstar. Preslynn said she hadn’t heard of him and if it hadn’t been for the weird request of the gem, she probably would have avoided the job all together. Preslynn offers her opinion that she thinks Morstar is an outsider, someone new or not from Volaris. Ember doesn’t want to let on too much information in fear Preslynn may be a target. Ember warns Preslynn that there were more than one party interested in the train tonight. Ember asks Preslynn to look into Morstar before she departs.
Aydriann heads to another alleyway as Ember was talking to Preslynn. Aydriann knows he has to climb to the top of the building for Venoxyin as she tends to do these things to Aydriann’s disapproval. Once Aydriann manages to get to the top of the building, Venoxying appears out of nowhere to be funny, but falls flat as Aydriann is fit to be tied. Probably due to the sore muscles and how long it took to climb the building. Aydriann tells Venoxying that there were several organizations present during the heist and that it didn’t go well.
Aydriann asks Venoxyin why the black masks wanted with this book and what they are currently doing. He also asks about any ties with the spirit walkers, syndicate and the judges. What do those three groups have in common or anything that is related. And the last question is, who is the dead one.
Aydriann tells Venoxyin there is a party in Rebirth but Venoxyin is quick to let him know she knows of celebration being held in underground of Neverspire. Venoxyin is touched though that Aydriann cares. Taking it in briefly, she departs and Aydriann looks down the building to what he knows to be a long climb down… He makes it down without too much issue and catches up with the group.
Ember and Aydriann converse about their meetings. Ember reminds Aydriann that the Black Mask was hired by the Eldon Order. A chuckle comes from Enoki as he looks onto Aydriann exasperation. Aydriann notices and makes a comeback with Enoki quick to respond. Victor eyes both Ember and Aydriann suspiciously. An exchange of lines of businesses transpire; one legal and one illegal. Though Ember, in her defense, says that she is being on the level and that they are honest criminals.
Victor enjoys the street lights as they are walking as Ember asks a question to him. Has he been here before, making deliveries which then leads to the next question. Have you ever delivered to the Glorious Morning Glory Tavern and Inn. Victor answers he has and proceeds to tell everyone about this Tavern. He tells them the layout and that the owner is Sam, the Loxodon and there is normally music. Ember asks for his help to keep Sam distracted if needed.
Briefly being introduced to the bouncer of the glorious morning glory, everyone is explained to rules of being able to participate in the tavern and that is not disturbing the peace. They walk into a lively atmosphere where two creatures are near the hearth, sitting at the piano and the other holding a lute. Two bartenders can be seen serving drinks, Sam and Daletan. The group splits, Enoki and Ember head upstairs and Victor and Aydriann head to the bar. Victor tries to do quality control and lies about why he is in the tavern to Sam. Soon after though Aydriann buys a drink nearby. Ember and Enoki head up the stairs and aren’t able to locate Morstar but are shortly made aware of where he is by Morstar himself as he calls them over to sit. Ember notices the two creatures at the piano. One blue elvish looking creature and the other a fair skinned human are both feminine.
The two at the bar head up to join the other two and they devise a quick plan. Victor and Ember will play lookout while Enoki and Aydriann play good cop, bad cop. Morstar looks like a humanoid but has bunny ears, white shaggy hair and claw-like hands. Aydriann isn’t able to be intimidating to Morstar but Enoki makes a strong case to have Morstar show that the group has stuck to their end of the bargain. He apologies for being suspicious as he has been mistreated by creatures.
An exchange of goods happens and Morstar starts to explain and answer questions. He found out about the plant from a ship’s manifest in an office in Anchor. He explains that he has a talent for teleporting and was able to get in and out. The name signed was Vossler. He also reveals his sister is blind due to a disease due to the air of this land and the only cure he has been able to find is the dwarfs blade. A plant grown in Sylinna, another continent and in volcanic ash. He tells everyone that he isn’t from this world, that he and his sister are from the Faelands.
