Session 33
Ember and Orianna stand in a circular room with a ceiling that spires high up into the heavens. Rain’s words still lingering, “Edmeera may get her wish”, as a magical projection displays Rain with several Spiritwalker’s battling a huge crab spirit.
Rhaenarr yells into the projection
“We are coming…”
Rhaenarr interrupted as the the magical projection disappears abruptly,
“Fuck there isn’t much time. Ember and Orianna, I can’t even begin to fathom how much I don’t deserve your assistance but we need to help Rain. Do you know of others who can assist?”
Asking this while beginning to run back towards the main foyer, motioning for the two to follow.
In the main foyer, The servants stand still, all looking at Rhaenarr as the Vedalken beelines to the courtyard where Lily stares up at Rhaenarr.
Lily - “Is there something wrong caretaker”
Rhaenarr - “All is well Lily.”
Rhaenarr crouches down to place his hand on Lily’s head. Rhaenarr looks up and towards you.
“Money and armor are in that room. Rain never liked money…Please take all that you require”
Ember grabs a nice +1 breastplate and 100 platinum. They head back to the main foyer as they see Lily is on Rhaenarr’s shoulder when u come back to the main foyer. Rhaenarr puts Lily down in what seems to be a circle drawn with white chalk. Arcaic symbols outline the circle.
“Rain can’t use their powers at all cost. Rain’s true identity can’t be known by anyone. Edmeera will come to kill Rain if u misstep. This spell will block Rain’s true identity from your minds. ”
Tears develop inside Rhaenarr’s eyes. Rhaenarr motions you to step inside the circle.
“A great Transgression against a deity gives them the ability to slay a mortal.”
Rhaenarr seems to be staying out of the circle.
“I can’t go with you. It would lead Edmeera to Rain as this spell will be a beacon for her to locate the spell caster.“
“Please take care of Lily Ember.”
“Fortunae spiritum de mi volo quam mori.”
Beams of light shoot up from the circle you’re in. Rhaenarr looks down at the floor as the servants around the mansion stare blankly ahead, as if they where maniquinns. You see a tiny sliver of light floating in the air of this mansion. It catches your eye. A fine wire as u start to focus it. Now it seems there are many that have appeared around Rhaenarr. Were they there before? Rhaenarr tells Ember to ask Rain about a “Final Wish”.
“When the time comes Ember, when your ready, ask Rain about the truth about spirit walking, the truth.”
A woman, with beautiful green eyes with slit pupils, red hair and jewelry beads strung across her face with a sheer mask covering her mouth, floats with a cold emotionless face staring at Rhaenarr. The strings surround Rhaenarr as the woman raises her hand. In a single motion, the woman looks in ur direction, her hand closes into a fist as her arm comes down and the strings wrap around Rhaenarr, slicing the vedalken into pieces. Everything fades suddenly to white.
As everyone is walking elsewhere…
Everyone else you see beams of light shoot up from where you are. You can’t push pass as everything fades to white.
Everything starts to come back into focus. Before you stands the Shaydo — a huge, crab-like dark spirit hovering beside a towering statue of a Valkyrie, the snowy floor strewn with the bodies of slain spirit-walkers. Rain looks past you toward the source of its low growl.
Rain - “So many dead because of my misstep.”
Flares all over the place but it seems that no judges are coming
