Session 14
Aydriann, hanging on the pole of the damaged Scrypt, decides to deface the Scrypt with his way of justice to the Judges. A middle finger displayed sends a few in the crowd to report this. The heroes don’t stick around and start to head towards the temple of Xanthos where they hope the Calaveras can answer their questions about the book everyone wants.
Upon arrival, a demonstration from the Pious is heard with two Calaveras watching from afar. The heroes approach the two. Custunia is one of the Calaveras and introduces herself and Milan and says that he doesn’t speak and that she translates for him. Enoki suspects something is off about Custunia and her eye, everytime she closes them, she does so slowly. Unfortunately Custunia and Millan aren’t able to answer the questions the heroes have but point them in the direction of Quill.
The heroes head to talk to Quill who sits by a pond at the bottom of this large hole carved out of stone inside the Xanthos temple. Unfortunately, though Quill may have a different opinion of what the book may be, it is all speculation that it may control life and death and doesn’t help the heroes so they depart from the temple.
Shortly after leaving the temple with nothing but the information they started out with, Preslynn gets Ember’s attention to come over to talk. She warns Ember that Venoxyin are targets from people in the criminal organizations because they think Aydriann and Venoxyin ratted to the Judges and want to set an example. She also mentions something she saw two weeks ago, when everyone was at the Glorious morning glory tavern and Inn. A blue elf with wings and she warned Ember it might be a Judge.
With the news of Venoxyin being hunted, Aydriann tries to get in contact with her but discovers she isn’t responding to her normal call sign. Close to an hour passes and Preslynn shows up again, with more grave news. Mortar’s sister died during a Judge raid and now Morstar’s is out for revenge. Aydriann is panicky but Enoki calms him down with an idea to pull off a jail heist to see if Morstar’s Sister is actually imprisoned and not dead.
