Session 109
Love Triangle
Section titled “Love Triangle”Dax confronts Aqol about his relationship with Izzeldeen. He tells Izzeldeen that Aqol and he were once briefly together. Izzeldeen isn’t pleased, but his frustration softens when Dax reveals he had also flirted with Ember during their break. Dax explains that after everything they had endured and all the obstacles he had overcome, he once thought there might have been a chance between them. In the end, though, he realizes it would not have worked out. Aqol accepts this, and so does Izzeldeen, especially after learning that Dax went to the Dark World and survived. The three shake hands, choosing friendship and wishing Dax good luck.
Splitting the Spirit
Section titled “Splitting the Spirit”Seraphine/Patricia gives the group a tome titled Spirit Sequence Splitting. It describes a forbidden malice ritual that allows someone to split their spirit, leaving the soul torn and devoid of empathy. Within its pages, the party finds another puzzle, this one leading them toward the Silent Crown.
The Silent Crown
Section titled “The Silent Crown”Seraphine/Patricia explains that The Silent Crown is a forbidden book locked within the restricted section of the library. Only one person may enter. Aydriann volunteers to go. The chamber is familiar because Ember had once seen it. Glass ceilings and upper floors catch the falling rain. Bright wood contrasts with dark iron shelves. The atmosphere is heavy, a reflection of sorrow. Tess senses this emotional weight and urges Aydriann to ask. When he does, Seraphine/Patricia admits the room is a reflection of her. The books aren’t hers, but the pain is. Aydriann gently reminds her she’s not alone. Inside the book, they learn of Korvathien, the silent ruler of Eden. He has split his spirit twice, creating Zadimus (the lawmaker) and Valtric (the enforcer). On page 32, a blank section reveals hidden text when Aydriann signs it with “V.” The message comes from an unknown author who knows Mack. They were separated when chaos struck, and she is now in Crazepass, hoping Mack finds her so they can rescue Charlotte. Another handwriting appears: Venoxyin. She claims she has uncovered something important and is heading to Ruunmaire to investigate what Peach and Orianna’s grandfathers were researching.
Petra’s Warning
Section titled “Petra’s Warning”As the group prepares to leave, Petra arrives with a warning. He mentions a band of treasure hunters:
- Lucen
- Élodie
- Ézra
- Amélisse
- Nimi
He advises caution. They’re not inherently dangerous, but they should not be underestimated either.
Return to New Moonshire
Section titled “Return to New Moonshire”The group travels back to New Moonshire with Petra. Along the way, he explains more about the Eldon Order, a powerful mage organization that observes world events and advises rulers. They do not seek power; they seek control. The party discusses their next steps:
- Travel to Ruunmaire
- Orianna and Dax will act as the face
- The rest will sneak in
Elira and Peach
Section titled “Elira and Peach”Once home, Elira and Peach reunite. But Elira grows upset that Peach is leaving again. To ease the tension, Peach invites her to create an ice crystal sculpture to pair with his wood carvings. Elira leaves to gather something for her ice sculptures but doesn’t return for a long time. Worried, Peach searches beyond the Veil of New Moonshire. He finds her shivering in a blizzard, something unheard of since Elira had always been immune to the cold. They return together. Instead of ice, Elira begins to carve wooden sculptures.
