Session 77
Jan 11, 2025
Orianna stood before the creature…a being unlike anything she’d ever imagined, let alone encountered. It loomed above them, a towering force of nature made manifest. They had all voted to attack, the decision reached through a careful, democratic process. Yet, as she tightened her grip on her weapon, Orianna couldn’t help but wonder if they had chosen foolishly. Not out of guilt or moral hesitation…this wasn’t about right or wrong. It was about survival.
The dragon moved, its serpentine body shifting with an otherworldly grace. Its scales shimmered like a living nebula, teal and violet hues swirling as though plucked from the deepest reaches of the cosmos. The colors didn’t merely reflect light; they pulsed, alive with celestial energy, as if the beast had been spun from starlight itself. Wisps of energy curled and unraveled around it, giving the illusion that it might at any moment dissolve back into the void that birthed it.
Its horns swept back in sharp, regal arcs, framing eyes that glowed an unsettling blue. Not just light, but depth…a brightness that seemed to hold the weight of entire galaxies within its gaze. And now, those eyes focused on them. On her. As if the first volley of attacks hadn’t just struck its massive form but had drawn its attention in the way a mortal might notice an insect buzzing too close to their face. Those radiant eyes burned brighter, the dragon’s alien intelligence evident in its piercing stare, and Orianna felt the chilling realization: they were fighting something far beyond comprehension.
The dragon’s voice struck like a shard of ice piercing everyone’s thoughts. It was vast, otherworldly, and impossible to ignore…an intrusive presence.
“You seek death so willingly.” The words, dripping with mockery and something darker…a cruel amusement. “I can only fathom why you have chosen me to be the one to send you to Vore.” A hesitation, perhaps a reassessment as the dragon stared at Orianna.
“Ah,” the voice continued, soft now but no less powerful. “You seek my heart for your curse. How quaint.” A faint tremor sent the stars in the dragon’s form swirling faster. “My heart will come at a cost, young one. But oh… I feel it now. A spark of excitement. Do you feel it too? Death… Vore…”
The word lingered, Vore. The silence stretched until the creature’s laugh broke it…a sound both melodic and cruel, like shattered glass given life.
“Fools,” it said, and its amusement curdled into something darker. “Let us dance.”
After the surprise round, the group engaged in combat with the dragon. Toward mid-fight, there was a discussion to run but the group decided to stick with the battle. Orianna talked with Za’lonn about being inside Nightfang. Orianna had taken the sword out to wield it which caused an event to happen. Maeryn told Orianna that she should seek him if she wanted to take care of the sword’s curse, saying it was terrible. Za’lonn said that was a bad idea and should seek Lyzathra Malvyris The battle continued and the dragon released gravity breath shutting down most of the party. Aydriann managed to save Peach and Ember while Mack used her cape to escape the breath. The battle draws near the end.
