Session 15

The heroes head off to Darkwater prison in Jurisprudence. Luckily two of the precincts they have to head through, Vauxhall and Matoveous goblet, are in prime time tavern crawl, making it easy for the heroes to traverse. A detour is taken once they get near Rayannes shield…

Avoiding a close call, the heroes hide in bushes a few hundred feet away from Darkwater. They look around and see a Judge sitting on a bench a few feet away. Ember and Enoki sneak up to the judge to try and knock him out and steal his outfit but unfortunately Enoki misses his attack and the judge calls for an alarm. The judges on the wall of Darkwater send up light flares and converge. Enoki is able to still knock out the judge and Ember is able to pick a shield of his body. Enoki casts a spell to create a small fire tornado to distract the Judges which works.

The heroes run for a good distance till they get to Darlita and make the observation they lost the Judges. It’s at this time Ember notices a figure matching their speed from a distance through buildings. Aydriann grabs Ember’s hand to make sure she doesn’t fall behind. Ember loses track of the figure till the figure, a black bandaged creature with purple glowing eyes, appears in front of her. No one else saw this creature and as fast as things were proceeding, the creature reached out and touched Ember’s shoulder and she disappeared from everyone’s view.

Ember, now in the Spirit realm with Xanthos, they discuss an event where all the creatures of Fornova will die. Xanthos makes a plea with Ember to help his plight to save the world. He told her of the cost and Ember accepted it. Ember asks about the book of the dead, which it is revealed to be on Ember the whole time, in the form of the note they took off the train. Ember starts to ask about her mom but is cut short as Xanthos tells her Venoxyin is soon to die and he needs to go. He also warns that he can’t bring her back as the spirit realm is a dangerous place with certain protections. Xanthos asks if she wants to be brought back to Neverspire near her home to tend to Venoxin, to which Ember replies yes.

Reeling with the fact that Ember just disappeared, Aydriann climbs a building to yell. He then meets with three very strange creatures who call themselves Ids and transport him to an alien world. One with a monster with tentacles on its head and xenomorphic body that floats in a red and blue hazy world with a blood moon. Enoki unfortunately climbs up the building to only discover Aydriann is gone.

Ember, back in never spire, sees a trail of blood that goes into her home. She follows it to discover Venoxyin laying in Aydriann’s bed. Flash of blades meet the attention of Ember’s eyes as Morstar slashes Venoxyin’s throat and stabs her in the chest. He says he will take everything from Aydriann for his sister’s death and teleports a few feet away to dash away.

Aydriann, realizing he is talking to Jaz, must form a pact in order to save Venoxyin from death. The agreement is that he must help Jaz with a push with something about redundancy. He also can’t let any of the heroes die or he dies as well. He agrees and Venoxying is brought back to life.

Victor gets a sending message from Melina about his father acting weird and he needs to come quickly. Victor heads the call and rushes home, to discover Collette is on the floor. He rushes to her aid, which she seems not badly hurt but his attention is drawn towards upstairs where the wood planks become instantly frozen and loud screaming can be heard. He gets upstairs quickly to discover his father is possessed somehow by Noite with Melina trying to fend him off. She unfortunately succumbs to Noite’s ice and is frozen and then is dropped through the floor. Victor thinks fast and produces his fire rune. It breaks and causes Noite to transport Victor to Noite’s sphere, where he tells Victor he will have his Winter Herald. In a rage, Victor somehow invokes the broken fire rune which pushes Noite’s influence back but not without a side effect, the frozen winds from Noite’s realm enter his body before being transported back home.
