Session 50
A quick summary. Some things were left out such as NPC recruiting and Christine Daae, a vampire spawn of Gaston Laroux, given safe passage aboard the valiant.
Ember and Aydriann embarked upon the airship Valiant, bound for the city of Icesyn, shrouded in a veil of icy mist, where sunlight dared not penetrate. Yet, their journey would not be uneventful, for sky pirates assailed them, forcing a crash landing upon the frozen waters of Icesyn’s port.
Amidst the frigid air of Icesyn, Ember and Aydriann encountered Peach and Orianna, in search of their elusive brother, Sirius. Their quest led them to a fateful encounter with the vampire Gaston, whose sinister presence haunted the city, and whose actions, done through the voice of Christine Daae, led to the disappearance of many denizens, including Betrilla, the wife of Kaelan.
With the aid of newfound allies, Dax and Mack, the group valiantly confronted Gaston, rescuing the captive souls and reuniting Betrilla with Kaelan. Thus, they earned the guidance of the pathfinder Zavrun, leading them on a perilous journey towards Targovisyn.
Amidst the turmoil, Elira, a gnome with azure eyes, was rescued by Peach and Orianna, whose intentions remained shrouded in mystery. Despite initial suspicions, Peach’s compassion and empathy forged an unlikely bond with Elira, who revealed a shortcut through the treacherous terrain to reach the legendary weapon, Sol, before Noite’s impending wrath could claim her.
As time dwindles and danger looms, Peach stands defiantly against the encroaching howlers, his dire wolf form shielding Elira from harm. The death ward has four hours before it fades. Two oblivious paths lay before the group if they want the weapon and save Elira. Ravine Shortcut or Tar.
In the midst of turmoil, a wooden trinket bears witness to the trials spoken in this telling, its etched figures of a stick figure with horns and a tiny stick figure with cryptic words underneath, cool and cold, hinting at destinies intertwined and fates yet to unfold.
Now, Ice howlers, many of them, run towards the group for malicious intentions. The battle is quick and the ice howlers lay deceased. Ember’s spirit guardians that resemble Preslynn subdued the three hordes from different directions. Melina shot scorching rays and Zavrun’s arrows mostly hit their mark. Aydriann’s occult apparition and his witch bolt dispatched many. Dax’s hex and armor of ageisis along with a well placed eldritch blast took out many of the howlers. Mack by his side lended her assistance to any stranglers and peach in dire wolf form make sure none touched Elira. The final blow was Orianna’s word of radiance. That shutters and ends the last of the howlers with dust flowing into oblivion. And time to ponder is now as the group must decide what to do next.
