Session 19

Aydriann takes a breath in the northern part of the dark water prison and casts invisibility on himself. He proceeds across the grounds of the dark water prison courtyard, locating the records building. He sends Sprocket, his familiar, into the records building but is heard upon entering. Before being seen, Aydriann quickly summons Sprocket into the pocket dimension and continues to do recon on his own accord.

He locates the door and sneaks inside, though not without causing slight noise but lucky to no one’s notice. Seeking a way to find a record for Cathryn’s imprisonment, he listens to a guard at a desk that seems to be a records keeper. The records keeper notices that procedures weren’t followed and says that he needs to look into this. He walks over to a book shelf with records as Aydriann looks at the ledge the records keeper was looking at. It had three columns: one for timestamps, one for inmate Ids and one for inmate record numbers. One of them was circled which alluded to what the records keeper was looking for in the bookshelf.

The records keeper finds a record book and brings it back to the desk. Aydriann looked from the other side of the desk to see what the records keeper was seeing. The records keeper hesitates, as he stops on a page. Aydriann is able to locate Cathryn’s name and also sees other information within the record. She is being held in cell block C and was checked in by Cassara near the time of the Vossler interview with the Observer. Aydriann overhears the records keeper asking himself whether he should do the right thing. He assures himself that they aren’t above the law and he needs to report this.

Aydriann follows the records keeper out of the building and breaks off to find cell block C which isn’t too far. Peering into one of the cell windows, he is able to confirm Cathryn is currently being held in one of the cells. Aydriann knows his time is almost done so he climbs the main walls and leaps off to head towards the group.

While Aydriann was in the prison, Victor and Ember and Enoki follow the Young Cadets for a bit till they can break off without being noticed. Enoki is the first to break off but doesn’t let the others know he does this. Victor and Ember aren’t able to see where Enoki went.

Victor is recognized by Sam, the barkeep of the glorious morning glory. Ember sneaks away as the two talk about the events of Victor’s brewery being blown up by Noite. Ember walks to a park bench but is beckoned by a creature that stands near a tree in the shadow. A hooded creature with wings and a shepherd’s crook and vulture skull. He says he has a message from Xanthos.

He tells Ember the meaning of the three coins she collected on the train. The one with the owl is that of the Syndicate. The creature tells Ember she needs to see out a Syndicate Elder by the name of Jericho Sanel as he knows about events that transpired long ago that pertain to the Xanthos’ Quest. The coin with the scales deals with the Judges. Artorius and Lynessa know about events as well. The last coin with the eye with a teardrop, deals with the spirit walkers. Yeivesa and Rain lie to protect others and also know about events.

He also tells Ember to look into Leaden blood.

The group meets up and relays information. After a quick discussion, they decide to head back to rebirth. Unfortunately they are met with a winged fiend that is bent on trying to kill Ember in the name of Edmeera.

Aydriann detects the fiends’ thoughts and is able to pick up Xanthos’ quest which Ember seems to be a part of and that Edmeera, the Goddess of pain and suffering, will stop at nothing to keep her daughter, Yllena, trapped.
