Session 28
Snow falls onto the roofs of nearby buildings. The view from the station showcases the wintry dance of snowflakes and wind. A few buildings soar high to inconvenience the viewer of a white abyss.
Still, the group is able to see two white hooded creatures approaching from the south. “The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” as the quick getaway plan doesn’t seem to be playing out the way it was intended.
Several creatures wait for the train as these two approach. Some creatures, waiting with families, enjoying this sudden opening of the sky, soft flakes falling, not delivering a cold sting, a lack of moisture has made these flakes extra soft, allowing tongues to stick and play a game of catch a flake or two.
With no train heard and no train in sight, adventurers head towards the two approaching creatures to get away from the crowd of creatures on the train station platform. A slow game of chess as with each movement, the group find spots to try and figure out what these two wanted as it was assumed they were syndicate. Ember confirms this when the two white hooded creatures get close enough but also sees something is off about one of them. Victor confirms that the one syndicate member that seemed off had four severed heads hanging around her belt.
Seconds after the information is relayed about the heads Ember starts to cast Faerie Fire to try and make sure the two creatures don’t try and sneak up on them suddenly. Unfortunately the two decide to attack with this action and the group is ready to engage into combat. Peach flys down with his wings to help the group against the attack as Aydriann jumps from a two story building to teleport at the last second next to the two creatures while leaving a thunderous sound in his wake, causing damage to the two Syndicate members. Orianna casts vicious mockery that leaves the Syndicate lackey questioning his decisions. Victor delivers the final blow with his warpick to the Syndicate lackey. The Syndicate HeadHunter teleports towards Aydriann and sends a floating severed head towards Aydriann. Ember switches tactics and casts a guiding bolt in the form of a bow and arrow at the Headhunter. Peach casts Entangle near the Syndicate Headhunter to restrain her. Creatures nearby start to panic as the show of violence causes some to run.
