Session 20
The group continues to battle the envoy of Edmeera. With his life looking like it will end soon, he makes a last attempt to stop Ember by trying to shift her to another sphere. He misses though and the party is able to dispatch him.
Emergency flare shoot up indicating a major event is happening and judge involvement is required. Aydriann quickly looks for the tuning fork but when he finds it and picks it up, it somehow burns him immensely. He gives it to Ember who is able to resist the psychic damage that wrought Aydriann. She takes it as the group decides to stay for the incoming judges.
Arturious and Lynessa show up to the scene moments later. Arturious begins to look the body of the fiend over as Lynessa is instructed to ask the group what happened. Victor is elected to speak on behalf of the group. Lynessa hails him as Victor Brimstone without Victor telling her his full name to which, Arturious comes over to the group and aloud tells Lynessa it’s illegal to read thoughts without proper cause. Lynessa apologizes by saying it’s like a fountain that is hard to turn off. Victor tells the judges about the fight and Arturious thanks him and everyone for their heroic deed. Ember asks Lynessa about the tuning fork to which she replies, its an evil item that links to Drathmar, an outer plane where Edmeera holds domain. Arturious tells Ember that Edmeera has hate towards those who follow Xanthos. He also explains he knows Ember is a follower based on the aura he can see and explains how he can see it; by being a creature from another plane or being a follower of a God. He also explains that Xanthos and Yllena had a connection and that Edmeera is the mother of Yllena. The calaveras and Xanthos have been blamed for what Edmeera has done. He then tells everyone the longer they stay in the presence of Lynessa, she will probably come across their private thoughts.
Ember keeps the telepathic link and asks Lynessa about Eden. Lynessa tells her that Arturious is the one from Eden but from a long time ago and asks that Ember not say anything to Arturious. She is new to the Judge program, made an inquisitor based on her mind reading ability that is a blessing and a curse. She goes on to explain that long ago, this betrayal that the years are also based on, Edmeera had trapped Yllena on Eden. An attempt was made to free the Goddess but it was foiled. Sypha Ignis, a Pyromancer, and several other mages formed a magic circle to cast a very powerful spell to combat the trap Yllena was in. One of the mages, thought to be a friend, a lover of Sypha, betrayed her during the spell, causing a catastrophic calamity, which formed Wizard’s Folly present.
She goes on to explain that the story says Xanthos was the one to change Yllena but Arturious says otherwise. He claims that it was Edmeera that changed her from being a maiden of white with wings and a halo to one without wings and a maiden of black. Lynessa tells Ember that no one has been to Eden for 867 years and that she hasn’t been alive that long but explains that Arturious has been and was in Eden before the betrayal. Lynesssa accidentally reads Ember’s thoughts on her trying to determine Arthurious’ race and tells Ember he is an angel from Hallonia that came down to restore order. She also explains that both Arthurious and Vossler were friends and came from the same place. She explains that Vossler is one to avoid. Lynessa becomes distraught as she begins to read more thoughts accidentally and runs off. Last word she says is that she knows who Ember is.
The group heads back to Neverspire. Lily is trying very hard to cover her garden which is dying. Aydriann comes to the rescue and builds a makeshift greenhouse for Lily. Ember tells everyone what has happened to her in regards to the three coins and leaden blood as well as the messenger of Xanthos and what the judges said. Melina shows up and wants to talk to Victor. She tells him that she may know a way to figure out what the two essences are by seeking someone who can see other’s fate. She explains there is an event going on at the Illumine Circus tomorrow and that there will be a bard by the name of Darius who can read fortunes. She says they can meet anytime tomorrow and runs off.
Ember sends a message to Morstar, explaining Cathyne is alive in Dark Water prison. For a price they can provide additional information. Morstar says they lied and that he saw Venoxyin and Aydriann kill her sister. Aydriann, not knowing this, tries to contact Venoxyin but gets another contact instead.
