Session 74

The wind screamed across the jagged ridge, biting cold and relentless. It tugged at the three figures standing before the ancient stone door, its massive surface carved with glyphs that pulsed in feverish, blood-red light. The energy was palpable, like a silent scream that rattled in their bones.
The elf stood apart, though not by distance. His presence alone created the separation, a chasm of unease between him and the other two. He was tall, his bald head gleaming faintly in the eerie crimson glow. Angular features gave him a sculpted, almost unnatural beauty…cheekbones sharp enough to threaten, eyes as cold and calculating as the wind that battered them all. His pointed ears twitched slightly, as though catching whispers only he could hear.
He wore a coat of black leather and dark cloth, its sleek lines broken only by polished metallic embellishments. Twin bracers encased his forearms, etched with runes that shimmered faintly…sigils of power, perhaps, or a warning of what might happen should one test him. At his hip rested an ornate blade, its intricate hilt woven with fine strands of steel and gemstone.
Aydriann and Peach ask Xyrell questions that they were unable to research in the Respire Library. Aydriann asks Xyrell for materials, and he agrees to help.
Meanwhile, Dax, Mack, and Aqol travel to Stillrock. Aqol heads off to visit his family, while Dax heads to the orchard to find Fungar. Instead of Fungar, however, he is greeted by another voice from the bag calling himself Haslen. Haslen speaks about his past and warns that a difficult choice lies ahead.
Aqol returns to the group saddened. When Dax asks what is wrong, Aqol reveals that his family disapproves of his choice not to focus on becoming a member of the Eldon Order. Dax reassures Aqol that he is in charge of his own destiny.
The group reunites to discuss a plan for traveling to the Dark World. It is decided that Orianna will wield Nightfang.
