“I bleed out tonight” - Aydriann
Venoxyin stares at him with no feeling of empathy “Do you want me to care?” - Venoxyin
“I have had a bad night…” - Victor
“Do they know?” - Preslynn
“No” - Ember
Aydriann tries to recall whether the name Watts sounded familiar but is interrupted by Venoxyin, “Sooooo, What I’m trying to say…HELLO…You’re not giving me the attention I deserve.”
“No, I held up fine. But when people get hurt, that’s when I draw the line” - Enoki
“The subjects I treated didn’t get hurt, they got enhanced. Once lowly creatures, they are now gods among creatures.” - Balthier
“They are monsters. They are void of emotion. If that is what you call a god, I want no part of it.” - Enoki
“Shame, you were one of my better subjects. I bid you adieu.” -Balthier
Bathier turned to exit as blood started to drip down Enoki’s clenched fist from his fingernails digging into his palm.
“Do you really want to travel to the shit holes I go to?” - Venoxyin
“Ya, I do.” - Aydriann
“Ok.” - Venoxyin
“Victor, now that your friends are gone, I have to ask, what do you intend to do with this? There are a lot of talks and rumors about this within the religious community about what happened. I just hope your intentions are good.” - Melina
“Yea I think so.” - Victor
Back in Neverspire, Ember and Preslynn hang back from the group to chat. Recalling the events of the day and talking about Morstar. Preslynn shares with Ember that he is a Kairlae and is not from Fornova sphere but from the Faelands. Preslynn doesn’t know much more about Morstar, only that he may have come from Aurora, Ianoxas’ world tree. They also talk about how the contact was made in regards to the heist job, which seemed like smoke and mirrors. They talked about the black masks and how they have never been infiltrated. Ember says that she would never join any of the crime organizations and Preslynn agreed with her that it wouldn’t be wise. Before parting ways, Preslynn asks Ember if they knew in a cryptic message. Ember says no and Preslynn tells her to be careful.
A loud bang is heard but Aydriann ignores it and the second bang. A few moments later, Venoxyin yells “Hey” and Aydriann breaks off from the group as well to head to meet with Venoxyin. A fun game of hide and seek, a game of Venoxyin’s intentions, is turned down by Aydriann to which Venoxyin displays a sigh of frustration he didn’t want to play with her. She jokes that because Aydriann didn’t play the game, she wont give him the information she found out. Aydriann and her have a friendly argument about each other’s days haven’t been well. Venoxyin then begins to tell Aydriann a theory she has about the three coins and the book. She had a theory that the book belongs to Xanthos because he is the God of death. She suggested contacting a Spiritwalker they know to try and talk to another Spiritwalker by the name of Watts. A few antics here and there and Aydriann leaves to go to bed.
The group comes back together and plans to head out to the Underground to dance the rest of the night away. Unfortunately it is cut short by a judge raid. Fayra had brought a magical music device capable of reproducing music, considered illegal in Volaris. Luckily, with the help of the heroes, they are able to help Fayra escape.
During the next two weeks, the heroes do various things. Victor occupies himself mostly with work but comes to find out that his father has an item that seems to be sinister, perhaps something from Noite, God of Winter. He meets with Melina, his oldest sister, who is becoming a cleric of Ozana. He also meets Ozana, who warns him of the item that Hawk, Victor’s Father, bought.
Enoki spent time working at the Whimsical Woods, located in Ozz. It is run by Jocyne, a Harengon and employs 3 employees including Enoki. Sabrix Nimblewoods is a halfling and is one of the employees that Enoki mostly hangs with when carving art. One evening though, Sabrix forgot to lock the door on the way out and Balthier, a creature from Enoki’s past walks in. Failing to hide, Enoki asks what he wants, to his reply, he says that he was fired by Viktoria, another creature from his past. Enoki says he has done bad things to others which Bathlier’s replies, it’s just evolution, an enhancement to those to become like gods. Balthier leaves without much left to say. Enoki will also take a visit from Aydriann who asks for a commission on making some wood armor for Sprocket.
Aydriann and Ember decide to pay a visit to Morstar to see if they can get some of the dwarf’s blade as Aydriann is making a potion slugger, Ember wants to assist with making healing potions and hope the dwarf’s blade can be made into something. Aydriann and Ember meet with Morstar about the dwarf’s blade. Catheryna Yeni walks in as Morstar thanks them for helping him and his sister. He says that she is almost fully recovered as he gives them the last Dwarf’s blade. Aydriann and Ember ask questions but unfortunately don’t get too much information in regards to the plant so Aydriann elects to spend the day with Venoxyin to search for more information about the plant. Ember goes to the Breakwater Piers after Morstar gives her more information about the manifest he used to locate the plant. Ember scouts the area but decides not to sneak into the building with the manifest being located on the 2nd floor. Aydriann travels with Venoxying to seek out someone about the dwarf’s blade but doesn’t get the answer he wants. He is told without the root, the Dwarf’s blade is useless.
He heads back home and meets up with Lily who complains to him about the coins in their garden. He asks about the Dwarfs blade and Lily has a stunned reaction, losing their memory almost as they say hello a second time. Unfortunately Lily can only say she thinks it looks familiar. Aydriann wants to help Lily, even though Lily said she doesn’t need it. Aydriann, upon a medical inspection, makes the discovery that Lily’s limbs were torn off. He tries to use medical tools to fix Lily’s brain but only leads to blood and screams from Lily. He gives up and apologizes.
Aydriann throughout the two weeks would go and do various jobs but one day, when completing a job, he heard a group of creatures mention the name Corsten. Aydriann unfortunately wasn’t able to get more information about his big brother. Aydriann also notices Sprockets gem seems to be magically, almost like it contains memories. And he completes the potion slugger.
Ember has a dream about a creature in a wasteland, set into a fiery eye. A woman calls to her but Ember isn’t able to get to her in the dream.
The group meets up after two weeks and decides to investigate the book. Victor suggests they go to the Library of the Celestia and then to the spirit walkers. When walking to the library, they see on one of the magical screens, their faces, and that they are wanted in regards to the train heist. When the group gets to the library, they are told they need to be a practitioner of a faith in order to enter. Victor elects to find her sister, a cleric of Ozana, so they can gain entry. Ember stays near the door to keep watch while the others walk into the library. The group splits up to cover more ground.
Aydriann finds a book about Xanthos and Muvara, how Muvara was created through Xanthos’ empathy, which up till the creation of Muvara, Xanthos never had. Unfortunately the other book he found was the history of the spirit walkers but decided to steal it as he had no time to read it in the library.
Enoki finds a book about the winter herald, a myth about these heralds that would bring the long winter, a winter that would last many seasons.
Victor and Melina get to the fourth floor, where Melina asks if his intentions are good. Victor reads the book about a theory on Edmeera’s betrayal. A book that talks about Yllena, Xanthos and Edmeera. The story describes how Yllena and Xanthos formed a relationship, and from Xanthos came Muvara, the Goddex of Loss and wisdom. Yllena would also experience change which leads to a trap from Edmeera, the Goddess of Pain and Oppression. She, with the help of a few denizens of Eden, would trap Yllena. The book would describe with theories that Eden would invite the Goddess to their City, which at the time was open. While in Eden, Edmeera trapped Yllena and the City closed itself to the world.
Caught off guard, three hoods come into the library asking around about the heroes. Ember stays hidden and listens. The three hoods say they know that her party is in there and then yells at the librarian to let them in because they are in there. This causes a lockdown and shuts out everyone by a stonewall caused by the librarian. Moments pass and finally one of the hoods heads outside to contact someone who can help them.
The heroes come together except for Ember and decide to look more into the winter herald. They head down into the basement of the library where one of the forbidden sections is and they read about the God of winter, Noite. They come to the conclusion that Victor doesn’t seem to be a winter herald and that Victor’s dad, Hawk, is crazy. Aydriann pockets the book and they head to check out when Aydriann suddenly realizes that they will be asked questions that may lead to the discovery of him stealing books so he goes and puts them back.
The heroes meet back with Ember and Melina leaves. As the heroes exit they meet with Vossler, who is surrounded by a crowd which seem to be fans of his. He exaggerates with the heroes, declaring that if they are innocent, that they will have an audience with him to answer his questions. The heroes agree and Vossler approaches and asks a question of who wanted the plant. Some hesitation and lies but in the end, Aydriann said it was Morstar. His next question was who was the criminal contact that knew about the book.
