Session 23
The Illumine Circus, able to hold at least 80,000 creatures that travel from all over Fornova to witness its majestic wonder or to be a part of the act. The crescent moon of tents house these actors consisting of traveling merchants to sell magical wares, mages who wish to ascertain their power in a duel, fate tellers to tell creatures their fate and illusionists creating dreams or nightmares for visual entertainment.
Smoke can now be smelled as the nightmare has become real for the 80,000. Several tents now burning and screams of death fill this large cavernous building. An orange and yellow lightshow reflects off the dome stone ceiling above. The smell of ozone from the portals opened minutes ago still permeates and invades the nostrils. The several winged creatures that stepped through those portals, chant, “The one who hides from Edmeera.” One of these creatures stands in aggression towards the group.
This creature, who has no intention of letting up, stares at a badly injured Aydriann. The group gathers themselves for another round, the creature in front of you has his eyes change to a black void. Its body, twists in the direction of Ember with its feet and legs not bending to its will, its head contorts to angle sidewides, a different voice is produced from this creature’s mouth, “The one who challenges Edmeera.” The creature seems to gain control and moves to attack Ember.
The group adjusts to the changes by this creature. The fight is well fought and Aydriann strikes the final blow. Before he is killed, the winged reptile eyed creature says that both Ember and the one who hides from Edmeera will eventually be found and killed; if not by him, others will follow in his place.
A bag that seems to be sucking in the light is dropped and Ember picks it up as several winged creatures, similar to the one they just fought, give chase. Avoiding several obstacles the adventurers have a few more to avoid before safety.
