Session 43

The haunting notes of the angelic operatic aria reverberated through the hallowed halls, a melody that ensnared the senses. Christine Daaé’s soprano wove an enchanting spell upon the air, a celestial cadence that transcended the mundane. Yet, within its resplendent embrace, an unfamiliarity lingered…an invasive force, an unwelcome intrusion upon the thoughts and will of Orianna and Peach.
As the ethereal voice commanded the twins to unravel the mystery of Alary’s true identity, the voice of influence seemed to want to stay hidden and in command. However, in a strange turn of events, the voice released its hold on Orianna and Peach, urging them to flee.
Screams echoed from within the hall, a dissonant harmony that clashed with the fading notes of the aria. Aydriann and Kaelen bore witness to a chilling revelation on this opera’s stage. A creature, suspended in a macabre display, dangled as a ghastly testament to an unknown assailant’s malevolence. Christine Daaé is nowhere to be seen.
In the shadowed depths of the opera house, a sinister creature lurked, its malevolent presence foreboding as you entered into its cambers. He calls out an imposter among you. He says he’s set the table for a meal and that Alary is on the menu.
Two creatures by the name Mack and Dax teleport into Icesyn looking for job opportunities. Dax is an actor and had heard that the Eternity Assembly hall might have a show requiring actors. Upon arriving though, the two see a group of creatures venture into the hall as if they have something urgent. Mack and Dax follow the group into the depths of the opera house where they bear witness to a vampire. The vampire isn’t the only dark entity here though. Dax has one of his own by the name of Fungar.

Gaston Laroux stands up from a chair and reveals himself to be a vampire and wants to drink Alary’s blood as he is different from the others stating that he is not a half elf. Gaston states that he gave Christine the gift of singing to lead creatures into cages. He said that she disobeyed and was punished. Christine laid on the floor next to a cage that Ember spotted with Betrilla inside of it. Aydriann distracted while Ember headed towards the cage. Mack and Dax headed towards a chest while Dax was disguised as an inspector.

Once Dax was at the chest he tried to cast Suggestion on Gaston to give the key to open it. It failed and the vampire started attacking the group. Dax seemed to be possessed by an unknown entity. Gaston, feeling that he would surely die if he stayed, tried to flee. Dax, seizing the chance, tried to open the chest, with Fungar going crazy trying to get the contents inside the chest using Dax as his weapon. Melina lands a killing blow on Gaston or so it seemed. A shadowy essence started to form but Christine Daae stepped up to the group and gave Ember a stake to use against Gaston. Christine had requested after Ember drove the stake into Gaston’s heart that she do the same to her. Christine wanted to be put down so as to not hurt anyone ever again.

Aydriann persuaded her to rethink her perspective and realize that it was Gaston using her to do all those bad things. Ember killed Gaston with the stake. Now everyone looks at these two new creatures Dax and Mack with many questions.
