Ember goes up to the counter of the library where the elf, Phoria, had helped reunite her family. She gladly lets the group in as it seemed that the library was full today after the attack on the Illumine Circus.
Melina tells Victor to search for a book called, “The herald who tried to block the sun”. He finds it and reads it.
Icesyn, a place where winter stays. Kervoite was a spoiled naive prince. Born into the House of Tradxina, the monarchy of Icesyn, the prince would have to take part in a trial called the trail of Desemence. It was a rite of passage for the citizens of Icesyn which everyone took a part of, including the monarchy. Especially the monarchy. The prince had refused at first which did not sit well with the house. Persuasive lessons were taught at the expense of dignity and sanity. The house of Tradxina was cold and cruel.
The trail of Desemence required one to travel on foot across the icy wasteland that surrounded Icsyn for many days, to a place where a tree grows underneath the frozen ground. The tree of Desemence bore icy fruit called Syn. The fruit would painfully freeze a creature from the inside. The worthy were said to come out alive. The prince ate the fruit and froze to death proving to be unworthy….
Noite, the God of Winter brought Kervoite back to life with a condition. Tenebrous to the people of Icesyn, upon the young prince’s celebrated return, plans would be made to bring an endless winter to the world of Fornova. 10 years of winter would be how long till Sigunia, Kervoite’s adopted brother, would stand against him.
Kervoite, banished from Icesyn, hailing from the Thermdenn, the winter herald as he would be called, in the age before the betrayal, would be slain by Sol, the Legendary Spear bestowed from LeSoleil to Sigunia. The Long Winter, as it is called, is now just a tale. Few still live who were alive then. Fornova hasn’t seen this event in over 900 years and hopes to never witness it again.
A giant tree that connects to different worlds, creatures from all over travel to Fornova through this, one of a few, world trees. Communities have formed around the tree. Livvi looks up this information while in the library with the others. Livvi also finds information about real estate owned by a Daethur in Serenity Plaza, Rebirth.
Jaz shows up disguised as Venoxyin. Aydriann talks with Jaz, finding out there was a Tiefling by the name of Malith, that Jaz had many talks with her. Also said to protect Victor and Ember and the fourth. Tells Aydriann the book Ember and Aydriann seek is called the “Gray blood and the god killer” Also finds out that the power he has is through Jaz’s blood, called Leaden Blood. It is harming Aydriann.
Ember sees someone is watching her and goes to figure out who it is. It turns out to be Rain. Rain explains that Yeivesa has memory stones that can answer all the questions Ember has. Edmeera hunts Rain and has done it for 867 years.
The group unites in the library as Rain shifts into Ember’s Father to hide the fact that they were there. Aydriann heads off to steal the book, Gray blood and the god killer but only finds three pages which he rips them out silently. He hides the pages from everyone and the group exits the library. The bird creature from early shows up to Ember and tells her about the book, Gray blood and the god killer and that the undamaged book is in the main library of the Kaicrumao. The creature reveals their name as Poe and gives Ember a starknife.
A tiefling shows up by the name of Orianna. It is then discovered that only Ember and Orianna can see these bird creatures, Poe and Orianna’s, Kai. Melina tells Victor that she may know where Hawk is but he isn’t on this sphere of Fornova. White cloak figures seem to be watching the group and eventually follow them as the group makes their way to the train station.
